Carmen Wan Physio & Pilates specializes in expert physio-led Pilates, focusing on clinical rehabilitation for effective injury management and prevention within a fun, friendly, and supportive environment. Our physiotherapy services ensure that exercises are adapted and tailored for each individual, supporting their personal aims, goals, and clinical needs.

I am a chartered and qualified MSK Physiotherapist and APPI instructor specializing in clinical pilates. I teach mat pilates and large equipment, drawing on over 5 years of experience. With a strong background in sport, I combine my clinical experience and knowledge in Pilates and Strength & Conditioning to provide effective clinical rehabilitation and injury management solutions. My goal is to help individuals recover from injuries and enhance their performance through tailored physio led pilates and comprehensive physiotherapy services.

Classes are run out of The Wellness Rooms, which provides a welcoming and supportive environment for clinical rehabilitation. Here, you can focus on improving your strength, flexibility, and movement control through clinical pilates. The available equipment for these physio led pilates classes will include the reformer, cadillac, and chair, all aimed at effective injury management alongside our physiotherapy services.
I provide Clinical Pilates Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy services. Classes will run in a fully equipped pilates studio that includes a reformer, cadillac and chair and is available to small group or private sessions. My unique style of exercise rehabilitation combines clinical reasoning, pilates and strength and conditioning to adapt to each individual's needs and goals to restore their function and build strength and confidence to return them to doing the things they love.
Classes are suited to those recovering from injury, managing a chronic condition / illness that has affected their physical health and wellbeing, those looking to improve their physical wellbeing pre / post surgery, pre/post natal or those simply looking to move better and feel stronger to support their sport/athletic performance while building resilience in their own bodies.
For your first physiotherapy/pilates assessment, comfort and practicality are key. You’ll likely be asked to move around, perform gentle exercises, and allow your physio to assess specific joints and muscles. If it is your upper body to be assessed, it is recommended to wear a sleeveless top and for lower body, shorts would be ideal to allow your therapist to examine you properly.
For classes, it is recommend to wear comfortable, breathable clothing that allows for a full range of movement and grip socks if available.
For Clinical Pilates, I will firstly assess you to discuss current or past conditions and your personal aims. I will then use this information to perform a functional assessment on your posture and movement control as well as your strength, mobility and flexibility. I will also look at you performing some key pilates elements and movements and from there, will customise and plan a progressive pilates programme for you to ensure you reach your personal goals and full potential so you can perform your normal exercise / sport with the correct injury management.
